Our Journey

At Squeak Peak, our journey began with a passion for ethical breeding and improving the lives of fancy mice. We took on a breeding line from a reputable mouse and rat breeder in Northern Ireland and sourced high-quality show mice from Poland and England to strengthen our breeding stock. With 16 years of experience owning mice as pets and a deep understanding of mouse genetics, which we've studied since 2019, we have built our breeding program on the foundation of improving health, temperament, and social behavior.

A core focus of our breeding line is creating male mice that can peacefully cohabit with each other, a trait that is often a challenge with other lines. While this is still a new development and there may be occasional instances where neutering is necessary to maintain harmony among males, this characteristic is extremely important to us. Mice are naturally social creatures, and we believe that all mice deserve the companionship of their own species. While humans can offer love and care, we can never replace the bond that a mouse can share with another mouse.

Our commitment to mouse health is at the heart of everything we do. We are constantly working to minimize the risk of common health issues, particularly tumors, which are prevalent in many lines. This drive for better health is what inspired us to develop our own custom mouse food mix. By carefully balancing nutrients and removing ingredients that have potential cancer risks, we ensure our mice have a diet that promotes long-term well-being. Each of our mice leaves with a sample bag of this mix, and it is available for purchase across Ireland for owners who want to provide their mice with the best nutrition possible.
